FOOD SAFETY UPDATE
More of Native Maine’s Managers Become ServSafe® Certified!
Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods managers Dan Varle, Mike Posey and Mike Adell are the most recent Native Maine employees to become ServSafe® certified.
ServSafe® is a nationally accredited food safety certification program. This class is designed for Food Service Managers, Directors, Chefs, Kitchen Managers, Dietitians, Dietary Managers and Foodservice Staff. The course agenda covers topics such as Potentially Hazardous Foods, Food Handling, Personal Hygiene, HACCP, Cleaning and Sanitizing, Pest Control, and Food Safety Regulations and Standards.
In today’s global marketplace retailers, restaurants, institutions and professional chefs should demand assurances they are purchasing safe and quality food products. Demanding the same assurances, Native Maine demonstrates an unmatched commitment to safe and quality foods by adhering to an internationally accepted food management system and we invite third party food safety, sanitation and security audits annually. The audits of Native Maine’s procedures include a fully integrated safety and quality management protocol designed specifically for the wholesale food sector. A third party, licensed independent contractor, Silliker Global Certification Services performs the audits.
Native Maine’s investment in having these managers trained and certified is part of our constant commitment to product safety and quality ensuring that our managers have the formal education necessary to see that the food we distribute is handled properly while in our possession. Native Maine now has ServSafe® Certified managers and trained chef’s overseeing our food storage, handling and selection processes on every shift 24/7! When it comes to food safety, quality and integrity, you can trust Native Maine!
